The training programme explores the nature of a business plan and looks at the benefits of writing a business plan. It also covers characteristics of a successful entrepreneur as well as key elements of writing a business plan. The programme also covers how to interpret financial statements (income statements, cash flow and balance sheets).

Business Structure and Models Training

The training programme explores registration requirements when setting up a business and seeks to explain different legal entities. It also shows the connection between the King III Report and the role of Boards of Directors as well as those of Audit and Risk Committees. Other content covered: critical steps when starting a business, stages and steps in setting up a business, different types of business entities and Corporate Governance.

Tax and Legal Training

Delegates will gain the knowledge they need to plan for, and incorporate newly enacted and pending regulatory requirements. The workshop assists organisations to comply with changing SARS regulations. It explains the different taxes as well as taxation requirements for small businesses. Also covered through a set of slides: Income Tax [Standard Income Tax on Employees (SITE) and Pay As You Earn, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Secondary Tax on Companies, Value Added Tax (VAT), Transfer duty, Tax on Dividends and Skills Development Tax (For SETAs).

Interpersonal Communication

People need to know how to build strong working relationships. They have to learn how to listen and get their point across as well as to collaborate and negotiate. When they need to confront, they shouldn’t hesitate, but should also not crumble the relationship in the process. In fact, the clarity they bring to difficult situations strengthens the respect that underlies their working relationship. Against that background we have designed a programme where delegates get to know themselves, how they act (or react) in various situation, and where they are effective or ineffective as communicators. The programme covers pricing objectives, main cost elements, operating expenses, Activity Based Costing, the difference between costing and pricing, factors affecting pricing decisions, Cost centers, Break-even analysis, and drawing up as well as analysing budget.
